Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Role

As our new Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take a high degree of responsibility for the commercial and cost management of a variety of projects, performing the following primary tasks:

Leading the preparation of detailed cost analyses based on architectural drawings, engineering specifications, materials and labour requirements.

Providing cost and commercial advice to clients and design teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Preparing and reviewing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.

Evaluating tenders from contractors and subcontractors and leading or supporting commercial negotiations where appropriate.

Maintaining cost control throughout all stages of projects within predetermined budgets and expenditure plans.

Monitoring project progress and taking responsibility for the measurement and valuation of variations, interim payments and final accounts.

Identifying commercial risks and opportunities and providing clear recommendations to clients and project teams.

Reviewing cost management deliverables and supporting quality assurance across projects.

Advising, supporting and reviewing the work of colleagues, contributing to knowledge-sharing and the continued development of the Quantum team.

As a senior member of our team, you will work independently and take ownership of your deliverables while also acting as a trusted advisor to clients and colleagues. You may also support several projects simultaneously, providing specialist input, commercial guidance and quality assurance where required.

About You

As an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, you are a specialist in your field, with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar role and the ability to independently deliver work to a high standard.

You are accustomed to taking accountability not only for your own work, but also for work delivered under your guidance. You can confidently communicate your findings and recommendations to clients, management and colleagues and are comfortable advising on appropriate next steps.

You have broad construction industry knowledge and strong commercial awareness, with experience across different stages of the project lifecycle. Ideally, you are also familiar with the specific characteristics of the Scandinavian construction market.

You are comfortable taking the lead, challenging where appropriate and making well-founded commercial recommendations. At the same time, you enjoy working collaboratively and sharing your knowledge with colleagues.
